Doing a 6 Months Old

You hear the saying that "time goes by so fast". Well that is definitely true with this special girl. I can't believe she is 6 months old already. What was I thinking when I took her pictures. First was the weather, it was snowing and cloudy. With that in mind, my choice for light was to use large window light. Setup the stage for her to be in the best light.I was looking for soft light. I wanted soft shadows. I used a reflector to help fill in some of the shadow side. (dark side). I did not want to get rid of them for shadow defines shape. They add dimension. I wanted a little softness to the face. With that I went with a 85mm 2.8 aperture setting and really put the focus on her eye that is always close to lens. Remember if the eye is not in focus you don't have a picture. Why 2.8? two reasons the low light and I wanted softness with a slight out focus from the back of head all the way to the background. You may never know that this studio was in a kitchen. The rest was wait for moments and shoot. Very little post processing was done.
